Nanotechnology: a UK Industry View
Dr Bojan Boskovic from the Cambridge Nanomaterials Technology Ltd has accepted invitation and joined the steering and review group and contributed to the report Nanotechnology: a UK Industry View. The report has been officially launched on 14th January 2009 at the UK Government Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) Conference Centre in London. This report delivers a number of recommendations to the Government and Dr Bojan Boskovic is among the leading industrials and academics in the UK who endorsed this report.
Lord Drayson announced that the UK would develop a Nanotechnology Strategy and launched the Government evidence gathering website on 7th July 2009. Alongside this, four Knowledge Transfer Networks (Nanotechnology, Materials, Chemistry Innovation and Sensors and Instrumentation) with significant industrial interest in nanotechnology agreed that it was necessary for industry to contribute to policy development using the bottom up approach. To do this a Mini Innovation and Growth Team was formed consisting of representatives from the four Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs). The KTNs then contacted leading industrialists and academics in the field of nanotechnology and formed a steering and review group (SRG) consisting of 65 representatives from the nanotechnology community.
